Yeah, mostly agreed. In my experience so far, an experienced dev that’s really putting time into their setup can greatly accelerate their output with these tools, while an inexperienced dev will end up taking way longer (and they’ll understand less) than it would have if they worked normally
You only notice the bad updates. There are probably over a hundred good ones for each annoying one that you notice.

They’re not good at debugging. The article is pretty spot on, IMO - they’re great at doing the work; but you are still the brain. You’re still deciding what to do, and maybe 50% of the time how to do it, you’re just not executing the lowest level anymore. Similar for debugging - this is not an exercise at the lowest level, and needs you to run it.
Did plex do something again
Anyone using basic HTML elements from the first HTML spec would still be supported in 99+% of cases today. HTML has added lots, and removed very, very, very little.
I think everyone can agree the no-html club is insane. Why not just a reduced version, so you can actually do stuff like links?
Are only people who submit posts allowed to have opinions? 😂
Good way to lose 95% of your users
It’s interesting to see Torvalds emerge as a kind of based tech hero.
It’s just that almost everyone else that could do it ended up being fucking ghouls of people.
Torvalds can be… brusque, sure. But he doesn’t support child labor, he doesn’t cheat on his wife, and he isn’t some crazy cult leader waging a war against workers’ rights.
Sounds like the thing that will finally get me onto another platform. Sideloading is the only way around most of these companys’ draconian restrictions.
