Nah which is why I give a shit about the capitalist argument. Steal everything
I doubt this “critical thinking” statement more and more everyday.
I think we’re exactly the same. Both sides believe they are critical thinkers. Difference is the right for whatever reason has more Victories. If we were actually critical thinkers, we’d figure out why and adapt. Instead, we seem to be losing faster and faster because we are not learning anything. We’re just doing the same shit every day and failing.
Critically thinking involves being critical of ourselves. That’s something I think we actually don’t do.
Exactly, and it’s not like there needs to be a weekly stand up for progressive leftist.
We just need to be aware we’re sleeping at the wheel and that needs to stop. We’re passively watching it all not realizing we’re supposed to be participating
The Users posted for free. They didn’t get paid. They should be publicly available for scraping
How weird is it that the left doesn’t make these connections and press it when we see people like Zuckerberg standing with Republicans while Republicans push for the laws.
Like what is lacking on the left side to make these really great observations but in meaningful ways?
People on the right seize on these opportunities every time. Within days whatever view they have is shared across multiple countries on multiple sites and influencers. But the left is like a few comments isolated on Lemmy among pictures of Ed Sheeran. We’re having fun though. That’s what matters.
That’s enough I suppose then.
No, it’s not that it’s controlled. It’s that none of you participate or share this stuff. “They’re owned by X” argument is just an excuse.
They’re the same with AI. Had these people been interested years ago, they would be sitting pretty. But they kept telling everyone it’s garbage. Now it’s just sunk costs for them
Maybe I’m wrong but the way I explain it is until the ambiguity is removed by adding in extra information to make it more specific then all those answers are correct.
“I saw her duck”
Until the author gives me clarity then that sentence has multiple meanings. With math, it doesn’t click for people that the equation is incomplete. In an English sentence, ambiguity makes more sense and the common sense approach would be to clarify what the meaning is
I fully believe we lost the Internet due to content creators. Once PewDiePie made that first million it was all over. That moment is the point in our timeline where we veered into a very dark timeline instead of the good one. The other point was the Hanging Chad
Don’t care, of all the problems in the world. You’re all making shit up to be mad about. Everybody gave their stuff up with or without AI. People were always scraping data and allowing it to be locked awa. Information brokers are not new. They have always sold our data. Nothing has changed.
I’m not bending over backwards to give a shit for people who have slept to the point that we arrived here with these issues, and now that we finally have something cool they’re up in arms because they think their stupid Garfield knockoff comic is the core competent to making AI powerfully profitable. I’d all for removing every content creator from the Internet. Scrub the whole fucking thing. They’re parasites
They’re the same people posting articles saying how bad AI is while everybody else has fun using it
I see there’s another big push to distance us from AI as some kind of boogie man.
Why do we keep falling for the shit
Same energy as Republican memes
It looks like they put a license of use on their comment
What is that hyperlink?
I swear to God if it is what I think it is, I’m going to jump into fucking traffic carrying as many baby ducks as I can.
Lemmy could have just been included in all of those
I don’t know much about private equity. So I appreciate the explanation. But that all just sounds like modern business to me. It’s a product of who we are and what we allow.
AI has been the most promising thing out to come out of the internet. It’s a new frontier. Like any new frontier there is a lot of propaganda to convince us all to take our eyes off it. The exact same happened with the Internet in the early days.
