Thank you so much! Its getting to be a passion - organizing, tweaking the settings, applying the texture packs…and then having retro achievements with them? Perfect fun to me! And Clone Wars sounds fun, too!
007 Nightfire is a great rec, since spy themed games are still so hard to find. I’ll be onto this one next I think!
Games like Midnight Club and Sonic are better with the PC versions, I think. Easier to tweak with the highest possible graphics and shaders, etc.
Thanks for your tips, and help!
I did it myself! Which obviously doesn’t help you whatsoever, but if you’re looking to get yours done you can:
-
If you’re in the 'States, then look up So-Cal Console Modding - or follow this link and check them out. - this is run by the guy who moderates the sub-reddit called r/SwitchPirates and he is about as above-reproach as you can get. The best of the best.
-
Check Etsy in your area (find someone who has a lot of reviews, and guarantees their soldering work - kamikaze method is the one you want for the OLED), or even nearby. Some are happy with mail-in services.
-
Facebook Marketplace. I know, its fb…but there are reputable people who do the work, depending on where you are
-
Phone repair shops! Sounds odd, but 9/10 will know exactly how to do the work, since micro-soldering is their bread and butter. Show them a guide, and they’ll do the work. My friend (one of the devs of Decky Loader) did this last week - took his to a phone repair shop and all is fine :)

I’m so glad someone caught a shot of that!
Thank you so much!!!
So far, definitely no signs of slowing down with these :)
PerfectDark@lemmy.worldOPto Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•Developer Interview: my Q&A with The RomM Project2·10 days agoI’m so glad you enjoyed it!!!
Thanks for taking the time to read through :)
I’d imagine that game would be phenomenal with the TDP set low!
Thank you for the reminder to get back to Donkey Kong! I think the last I was playing was Donkey Kong Country HD (is it a remake?!), and I was loving it. I need to revisit Tropical Freeze again!!!
I remember really enjoying Dirt Rally 2.0 (which I know, not the same - but it did have a nice Colin McRae element to that one!), but I’m not sure if I’ve played Colin McRae Dirt, specifically. I’ll have to look it up and get it running!
And thank you so much for saying that!!! Its my pleasure!
Aw, thanks!!!
When I say
Writing these is srsly such fun for me
…I’m not kidding! I really enjoy it, and it makes me think I’m giving something, however small, to the FOSS/Lemmy world. A small reason to favor here over elsewhere? Idk, something like that.
So thank you for this!!! Makes me happy to see they’re worth a lil effort :)
I AM WEIRDLY EXCITED BY SYSTEM SHOCK 2!!!
I really hope its as good as we’re expecting!
This girl!!!
And you’re so welcome, I love writing these so I feel lucky people manage to enjoy them, and find some interest!!!
Thank you for reading through, and enjoying them!!!
I really love the old TV made in the style of Sonic the Hedgehog, I haven’t searched prices but the fact it was only available in Japan for a short time tells me that it won’t be all that affordable!
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
If you’ve got any questions, please ask! I’m so happy to help if you get stuck on any part.
And glad I could help, GOG, Epic and Amazon games are a easy thing to run on the Steam Deck, and expand what you can play so easily. Such a good thing if you have Prime Gaming :)
Thanks for letting them know!
Its a shame. Some time ago this would happen with my posts, then someone reached out to the Boost dev and they fixed it. At least for awhile. Seems that same issue remains :(
I’d hope that maybe in the future they’ll follow this up with further support? That may just be the eternal optimist in me, but I’d like to believe there is a chance :)
And thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed this much smaller mini edition!!!
Oh that is lucky!!!
Glad it helped!
Plenty happened!
But, yes, that too. I laughed, so many posts have the title ‘rival devices’ supporting Steam OS and I just have to wonder…is that what they really think?
Hard to imagine more devices having Steam there, giving Valve that sale-per-game money being a bad thing.
But again, these huge news pieces are done to death by the time I get around to them with my weekly posts. I can’t see what I can add, unless I find anything else fun about them!
I don’t think I can choose. I use both, and am good friends with the devs of both options!!!
I use Heroic for my desktop PC, the ease of having Epic, GOG and Heroic on Linux is unbeatable to me. I do also have it on my Steam Deck
Junk-Store is (at the moment, however the upcoming release will change formats) a plugin via Decky Loader, and looks almost as if it is a native extension of the Steam Deck. The UI/UX feels stock, and that is so nice to see. And it is dead easy to use. It’s so nice to be able to add and play Epic & GOG games to your Steam library and play them.
Junk-Store has Epic for free, and GOG is a once-off payment for the plug-in.
Heroic’s support of Epic, GOG and Amazon are all free.
Its a choice, I swear by these two options and wouldn’t even bother with any other. Try both, and see which one feels best to you!
