Kdenlive. I used Adobe Premiere professionally and Kdenlive completely replaced it for me.
My French wife can’t take ChatGPT seriously because of this lmao
I can tell you right now that something like a username and password is exceptionally difficult for most users. Many just have one password for every single application and if they need to use a different email or password, they will be stuck.
The vast overwhelming majority of users do not have password managers, do not know they exist, and will give up at the first sign of complexity. You’re too far into the weeds if you don’t conceptualize this.
The overall vast majority of everyone is completely tech illiterate. We can blame them for their lack of tech skills all we want but that won’t change anything. Jellyfin needs a better UX before it’s feasible to use over Plex when sharing libraries with other users.
You’re right. There’s absolutely no evidence of Trump being not of sound mind.
Thank you for this. It’s beautiful.
Highly specialized people live in bubbles and assume that everyone else lives in their same bubble and so if someone else doesn’t understand, they aren’t worth communicating with.
In my experience, all the Linux documentation I have read has been written for peers of Linux developers, who are familiar with technical terminology and several concepts and steps are left out and implied rather than explained.
It’s a way for developers to ensure that Linux never receives adoption past other developers. Literary equivalent of pulling the ladder up.
So from this thread it looks like I need to disable this font. I’m not able to as it gives me errors :/
I’m going to restart and see if I still get these errors.
Edit: still have the errors. Nuking this install because I’ve exhausted all troubleshooting. Moved all files to new user and redownloaded and configured my apps. Gives me an excuse to start fresh because the home folder was getting cluttered.
When I run fc-match sans
I get NotoSans-Regular.ttf: "Noto Sans" "Regular"
and when i run fc-match serif
I get NotoSerif-Regular.ttf: "Noto Serif" "Regular"
All things seem normal :/
Edit: I made a new user account and the fonts are all fixed on that one. Wondering if I should just move everything to my new account -_-
For me it’s because Nextcloud also has a mobile app and it’s easy to transfer files between my iPhone and my server and other computers.
I can even create public folders easily so I can share data with people I give the link to.
I’ve been self hosting Nextcloud for over a year now. Fantastic. It’s like OneDrive. Syncs all my files on my computers so I’ve got multiple backups on different machines with one central location (the server running Nextcloud).
Tons of plugins and documentation, so any errors you may have are easily fixed. Haven’t had it mess up on me once. It just works.
I’ve never had a problem with any media playback. I don’t think this is an issue on Bazzite, the immutable distro I’ve been using for over a year.
I think you overestimate the average persons need to configure their computers. Most people just use a web browser, email, and maybe some light gaming. No one new to Linux is going to be really upset that they can’t do complex system operations on the command line.
Get an immutable distro. You’ll never need to touch it again.
